Our next match is scheduled for 17:00. Against Mostly Harmless. They improved really a lot since the German Open in Hannover this year, really incredible. Will be a hard game for us. But it will also be fun, because these mostly harmless guys are actually really nice guys (even though they are mostly Austrian … no, no, I didn’t say anything; no, don’t beat me! I’m almost Austrian… well. No. That’s … no. But. Well.)
So what else can I say? It was actually quite great to get only pre-filtered information through bandwidth limited channels such as Jabber. Now, I have to think about what to post here myself. Difficult. 1. RFC Stuttgart seemed to have problems, their matches looked not that nice compared to the first days (this assumption is based on what I was told). I’m nevertheless sure that they will both improve a lot until the finals on Sunday. Ah, and Mostly Harmless‘ goal keeper. They shot at it, broke some cover, and thereby shifted the camera system. Afterwards, the goalie was unable to do anything any more.
More to be posted later… looking forward to the upcoming match.
CN:Water – 1:0
Hallo and hi again, this time directly from Graz, next to the playground. The next match, Carpe Noctem against Water, is about to start in the next minutes. I’ll try to do some pseudo-live blogging for my audience (if there is one, actually?). Please keep in mind that I’m quite nervous before and during matches, so … updates might be a bit delayed.

RoboCup 2009
I finally arrived at the airport in Düsseldorf, got something for breakfast, and already passed the security check. Yes, they really allowed my to go through, you won’t believe it :) No I’m waiting for departure, boarding is scheduled for 8:40 or something like this.
The last match for Carpe Noctem (against the Hong Kong Dragons) in the first round robin is scheduled for 11:00. I won’t be able to see it, arrival will be around 10:40. Mostly Harmless’ last match (against ISePorto) is also planned for 11:00. They will proceed to the second round robin given they win this game. So I’ll keep my fingers crossed!
Below, you may find some impressions from the venue elm sent me yesterday (I’ll provide them later, sorry, boarding is about to start)

Except this one :) I’m currently involved in a meeting, so I’m unable to see the matches and comment on them respectively. My flight arrives in Graz tomorrow between 10 and 11, so … well, maybe some more words from me tonight :)
For now: Carpe Noctem won the match against MRT 3:0.
Today was a very exciting, thrilling day for the whole team but also for me. I spent about 1.5 hours of my working time watching our matches. Well, as the hours I typically spend in the institute are well above the required minimum, this should not really be a big issue. Finally, this is also robotics, so part of my work anyway.
There’s actually not much to say about the performance of our team. It is like in every tournament: we’re getting constantly better! The match against Stuttgart must have been really nice, according to some voices that reached me from Graz. The only things I want to post now are some impressions elm sent my some minutes ago. We’re definitely not the only team that is able to produce big bangs, Tech United is capable of doing this as well. The only different in efficiency is that they need two robots for this to be accomplished.

Then, finally the 1. RFC Stuttgart managed to reduce their TTBSB (Time To Break the Safety Boundary) to only 2.5 days. Great done, guys! :)

So long. Tomorrow, there will be probably less activity here as I’m attending a workshop. So maybe see or read you again on Friday!
