Using chained SSL cer­ti­fic­ates with Cher­o­kee is quite simple: Given you decide in favour of StartCom/StartSSL, down­load their inter­me­di­ate CA cer­ti­fic­ate (Class 1, Class 2, or Class 3) and append it to your signed cer­ti­fic­ate:

cat your-cert.crt.pem sub.class2.server.ca.pem > your-chained-cert.crt.pem


and pass this new file as the server certificate.

Rob­oCup Ger­man Open 2010

It took a while but I finally man­aged to upload the pic­tures we took dur­ing the Rob­oCup Ger­man Open 2010 in Mag­de­burg. Just as usual, they are avail­able in my gal­lery.

Actu­ally, these pic­tures show only what happened dur­ing the week­end; I joined them on Sat­urday. We (they) fin­ished just as every year, ranked fourth. No mat­ter, have fun! :)

It’s been more than a year since I defen­ded my thesis. I still have mixed feel­ings when I look back on the 4^th Decem­ber 2008, not because of the defence but other thinks that happened back then — good and unfor­tu­nately also bad ones.

One of the good things that happened that day: my col­leagues and friends built a really great mor­tar­board (Dok­t­orhut in Ger­man), and you defin­it­ively have to use the verb “build” because it actu­ally is an actu­ated, blink­ing piece of metal and car­pet. Yes, car­pet. Great stuff, really!

So, yes­ter­day I finally decided to pick it up. Car­ry­ing such a big (and admit­tedly funny-looking) thing in the train and tram is really chal­len­ging, it’s just like hav­ing a fel­low pas­sen­ger. With only small dam­age we both finally reached our home, my flat in Bremen.
