2005-06-15: The Hitch-Hiker’s Guide to the Galaxy

We’ve been in the cinema again yesterday. “Per Anhalter durch die Galaxis”, Douglas Adams’ The Hitch-Hiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, was shown. On the one hand it is a remake of the old BBC series, on the other hand simply a funny film version of the book. Even though in my imagination Marvin was more like Bender, the moon-faced thingy is quite congenial.
Unfortunately, some scenes are missing. For example when Mr. Posser is asked to lie down in the mud in front of Arthur’s house. Actually, there’s no (real) mud in the movie. After all, it’s worth the money so: watch it! ;)

2005-06-12: There Are Days

There are days when all things run smooth. Then there are other days when everything’s failing. Finally, there’s something in between. Some things are working right out-of-the-box, others don’t. Ideally, everything works as expected and you get your work done. This condition, however, only rarley occures. Most of the time it’s something in-between and that’s not as exciting. It even is a very unsatisfying situation: the most unimportant things succeed while the more important ones fail. There are currently so many umimportant but nevertheless interesting things to do \*sigh\*. Let’s see what’s comming next ;)

Something different: I finally managed getting ns-2 and nam installed. That’s no big challenge, though. Using configure and make approximately four times is not that complicated. Now I’ll have a look at OTcl and friends.

2005-06-08: A really great thing for VMware!

If one gets tangled up with vmware, newer linux kernels, arts or esd this site is simply the best! Thanks!

2005-06-08: Let’s see …

… what’s going to happen today. No matter what, I’m weary. The point is that I’m the “Berufsoptimist” (optimist by profession), sometimes also referred to as Marvin, so everything’s going to be fine today. Ok, ok, just kidding. Yesterday, I broke two glasses, an empty one and one filled with corn. It’s real fun to clear away thousands of tiny little pieces of broken glass, sharp-edged as … broken glass. Great. I didn’t even know that glass is capable of breaking into such damn little pieces. Anyway. My finger is fine again today and the floor in front of the fridge is now clean, too.

2005-06-05: New Webseite is Ready!

A warm and gentle “Hi There” to all of you who are not currently reading this. Nice to not see you! I’ve redesigned my website especially for you and me. I actually come across here once in a while… Just writing nonsense as I always do. Actually, I’m not only writing nonsense but also talking nonsense. Anyway. Have a good time and … ciao.
